Who can Volunteer?
Anyone can be a Pet Pals volunteer. We do, however, require
that those volunteers providing in-home services be at least 18
yrs. old and have transportation.
There are many different areas in which a volunteer may
become involved with our oranization. These include:
Food and Pet Supply Delivery
Fund Raising
Community Outreach
Transportation to Groomers and Veterinarians
Maintenance of the Kritter Kupboard
Office and Clerical Support
Communitcation Management and Webpage Maintenance
One-On-One Pet Care in the Homes of Our Clients and Pet
Parents
Foster Care
Pet Pals of Texas has developed a curriculum for new volunteer
training. Monthly sessions are in held on the first Saturday of every
month from 10:00 a.m. in the conference room at the Castle Hills
Self-Storage facility located at 7340 Blanco Road. The meetings
cover such topics as basic pet care and health, confidentiality,
home visit etiquette, and volunteer rights and responsibilities.
Most of the people whom we assist live
in low-income neighborhoods inside Loop
410 near downtown. Driving is required of
all volunteers who wish to do in-home pet
care or food delivery!
